We love good food
We’re big fans of local food. We buy local, tend vegetable gardens, know seven different ways to make kale taste good, and hang out with farmers every chance we get. But we wanted to do more to promote local and sustainable food so we teamed up to start Good Food Media Group, a media and marketing service for food ventures.
Our goal is to bring your good food to more tables. Thanks to our experience in helping food companies shine and a solid record of producing engaging, award-winning content, we can help you build an enthusiastic and loyal base of customers – even if your budget is limited. We’re also available to work with non-food ventures and, in fact, at least half our clients don’t have anything to do with food.
Clare Ellis, Media Chief. Clare started her career as a journalist at McGraw-Hill working for Business Week, among other titles. After becoming an editor she led consumer magazine teams at General Media, Time-Warner, and Disney Publishing’s Family Fun Magazine, where she met Deanna Cook. From there she entered the business of launching online publishing ventures and has hatched and shaped new products for well-established media companies, such as Nickelodeon, and been on the founding team of several others, including BabyCenter, DogTime Media, and MTV’s ParentsConnect.
Along the way Clare fed her deep interest in good food and nutrition by starting two health magazines, Longevity and Hippocrates, and redesigning a third, Alternative Medicine. She also immersed herself in all things local by founding GoCityKids, a popular city guide for parents, which had expanded into 20 cities by the time she sold it to Nickelodeon.
More recently she worked as a media strategist for food ventures, helping to strengthen brands and put together customer-building programs for documentary filmmakers, restauranteurs, ranchers, farmers, and local food businesses. Clare also counts among her clients a major healthcare organization and an educational organization. Clare attended the University of California at Berkeley and Smith College, and lives in San Francisco.
